Zeiss Spinning-Disc

The spinning disc confocal microscope can be used to study very fast processes in living cells. The exposure of the living samples to laser light is significantly lower than with a confocal laser scanning system. The microscope has two diode lasers with wavelengths of 488 nm and 561 nm.

The fluorescence signal can be detected simultaneously in two channels (DualCam mode) by two very sensitive sCMOS cameras (Zeiss Axiocam 702), e.g. for the detection of EGFP and mCherry in living cells or organisms.

This system also has a "stage incubator" for incubation of mammalian cells at 37°C.

The microscope system is equipped with the following objectives: Objectives:

  • Objective LCI Plan-Neofluar 25x/0,8 Imm Korr DIC M27 (Multi-Immersion)
  • Objective alpha Plan-Apochromat 63x/1,46 Oil Korr M27 TIRF
