Zeiss LSM 710

The Zeiss LSM 710 is an inverted confocal laser scanning system equipped with:

  • 405 nm UV Laser diode
  • 458 nm, 488 nm, 514 nm Multi-line Argon laser
  • 543 nm HeNe laser
  • 633 nm HeNe laser
  • incubation chamber with temperature and CO2 control
  • spectral detector with 3 PMTs
  • BiG detector for improved sensitivity
  • Piezo-focussed stage for fast z focus acquisitions

Optional equipment includes a multiwell plate frame insert. The system is suitable for multi-channel fluorescence imaging of fixed and living specimens ("live-cell imaging") and also for imaging of tissue preparations using the "tile-scanning" functionality. Z-stacks for 3D reconstructions, in combination with time series imaging, are possible as well as bleaching or photomanipulation experiments in predefined areas ("ROI", region of interest). In addition, the system has a transmitted light detector and DIC equipment for contrast enhancement in transmitted light exposure.

The microscope system is equipped with the following objective lenses:

  • Objective Plan-Apochromat 10x/0,45 M27
  • Objective Plan-Apochromat 20x/0,8
  • Objective Plan-Apochromat 40x/0,95 Korr M27
  • Objective C Plan-Apochromat 40x/1,3 Oil DIC M27
  • Objective Plan-Apochromat 63x/1,4 Oil DIC M27
  • Objective EC Plan-Neofluar 100x/1,30 Oil M27
