TIM 2018: “Bridging the Worlds”
12 - 14 March 2018
“Trends in Microscopy” (TIM) is an international meeting series supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The TIM will be hosted by the Center for Advanced Imaging (CAi) at Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf and is co-organized by the CECAD Imaging Facility of the University of Cologne. In 2018, the TIM is for the first time the meeting of the newly founded "German BioImaging-Gesellschaft für Mikroskopie und Bildanalyse e.V." (German BioImaging-Society for Microscopy and Image Analysis, GerBI-GMB).
Following the TIM 2018, the Core Facility Managers Meeting will take place on March 15 at Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf.
Modern microscopy techniques are essential tools of growing impact in the modern life sciences. The rapidly evolving field of emerging techniques and new applications challenges researchers to keep pace. The meeting series “Trends in Microscopy“ constitutes an effective meeting point for developers, users and suppliers playing an important role in disseminating information about new technical developments and applications.
The focus of the TIM 2018 will be put on the combination of imaging techniques, as well as on the combination of imaging with techniques from other fields, like mass spectrometry to gain more insight into cellular processes:
Optogenetics - Tissue Architecture - Functional Imaging - Image Analysis
The scientific programme will be complemented by a company workshop session on the second day.
We cordially thank the Scientific Advisory Board for their strong support:
Steffen Sahl (MPI Göttingen), Ulrich Kubitscheck (University of Bonn), Roland Nitschke (University of Freiburg), Claus Seidel (University Düsseldorf)
The meeting is organized by
Stefanie Weidtkamp-Peters, CAi & Astrid Schauss, CECAD Imaging Facility
Nadine Utz, GerBI-GMB, University of Konstanz
