Transmission electron microscope Zeiss EM902

Location: 26.02.01.67

Our Zeiss EM902 transmission electron microscope (TEM) can be used to image very small objects like virus particles, at magnifications between 3000-150000-fold. Applications of TEM include identification and characterization of virus particles or bacteria, the visualization of cellular structures (DNA and chromatin) and the investigation of polymer structures.

Using immunogold labeling in biological samples, localization studies with a resolution down to 1 nm can be performed, reaching the corresponding magnification of 150000-fold.

The EM902 is additionally equipped with an electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) unit.
